Holly Thorpe

Holly Thorpe is a writer, educator and community organizer based out of North Central Washington. She is an instructor at Wenatchee Valley College. She is currently earning her Ph.D. in Education at Seattle Pacific University.

Holly is also a freelance journalist and has written for newspapers and magazines throughout the state, including the Wenatchee World, Foothills Magazine, the Wenatchee Valley Business World and The Comet Magazine.

She is the founder and host of Lit Mic, an open mic for writers hosted monthly in Leavenworth, Wash.

An avid supporter of the arts, she serves on the NCW Arts Alliance board. She is a member (and past board member) of Write on the River, a non-profit dedicated to nurturing and inspiring local writers in all genres.

Holly holds an MFA in creative writing from Eastern Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism from the University of Washington.

She shares her home in Wenatchee, Wash. with her partner, two dogs, two cats, a handful of chickens and reptiles, and too many houseplants.
